M. Rivers is a Los Angeles, CA based artist and performer with impactful songs that bode influences from late 60’s psychedelia, 70s rock n roll, and classic soul music. He is known for his work as a creator and writer for the band Redlight King under the alias Kaz. Now as a break-out artist, Rivers is defying categories and genres as a modern craftsman with life experiences and eclectic tastes that he brings to life in his new album Champion.

M.Rivers' passion for music started early on in life. He started writing songs as a teenager and began recording his own music by age 16. He struck his first record deal with Epic Records in 2002, and was signed to Hollywood Records in 2010. M. Rivers’ goal has always been to write and arrange memorable songs written with care and passion.

M.Rivers has recorded four full-length albums and one live EP and has performed over 1000 live shows including many of the largest festivals in North America and Europe. His credits include well over 100 live radio performances, and musical guest appearances on both Late Night with Conan O’Brien and The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Under the moniker Redlight King, his biggest hit “Bullet in My Hand” went to Number 3 on the Billboard Rock Charts and stayed in the top 40 for 36 weeks. Rivers’ version of Neil Young’s “Old Man” charted top 15 on Billboard and was the 13th most played Alternative Rock Song of 2011. His music has also been featured in such films as “The Italian Job,” and “Draft Day,” with soundtracks including “Iron Man 3” and “The Avengers,” and television shows such as Malcom in the Middle and Person of Interest, as well as having songs licensed to Nascar, NFL, NHL, NBA and Major League Baseball.
